About us

MatarazzIR™ was established as a non-profit trader in 2014. We sell informational work contract resources under trademark to help skilled workers move across work types at short notice - when there is demand for skilled work. MatarazzIR™ is the trading name of business partners Lucio Matarazzo Pty Ltd and Catherine Matarazzo.

Lucio Matarazzo Pty Ltd was established in 2011 by business partners Catherine Matarazzo and Lucio Matarazzo, combining experience in regulatory services and industrial relations. LMPL assists employers, employees and contractors - nationally and beyond - in matters concerning Australian-based work terms and conditions. We represent clients in workplaces and work tribunals, and help improve human resource processes. We are based in Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia.

Previously, industrial agent Catherine Matarazzo worked for the Northern Territory Government in roles in which she instructed Parliamentary Counsel on detailed amendments to legislation.

Lucio Matarazzo's professional history includes 20 years as an industrial officer for an Australian trade union. In this role, Mr Matarazzo protected the interests of approximately 1,000 union members in the Northern Territory. The majority of the members worked in the non-government community service sector or local government sector. Other sectors represented by Mr Matarazzo included: air transport, tourism, information technology, and private sector clerical employees.

Our team

We work together to provide tools and support that help employers and employees manage workplace issues. We focus on making information clear and easy to use so clients can solve problems without confusion. Our team contributes by creating resources, guiding users through processes, and improving the way workplace information is shared. By working as one, we aim to make day-to-day workplace matters easier for everyone.

My work includes email and calendar management, maintaining records, preparing tribunal communications, and ensuring invoices are accurate and timely.

What I find most meaningful is knowing that my attention to detail helps clients feel supported, while also giving the team confidence that everything behind the scenes is under control. I am committed to continuous learning, improving how we work, and finding ways to bring a more personal touch to every interaction.

At its core, my role is about making complex workplace obligations simple and accessible for our clients. By ensuring the weekly newsletter is consistently delivered and product worksheets are kept up to date and easy to use, I help translate Fair Work updates into clear guidance.

What matters most to me is giving our clients confidence and peace of mind. To be supported and guided, allowing them to focus on running their businesses. Making something complicated easier for others is what makes my work meaningful.

What I find most meaningful in my role is being able to make our work processes smoother and more efficient in ways that help us serve clients better.

An important part of my role is the preparation of claims, or defences, in industrial relations matters as guided by the Advocate. I am committed to scrutinising the industrial relations regulatory framework and comparing it to the particulars: new and unique in each matter.

In each matter, the analysis of the wages-work bargain gives me a clear appreciation of the impact of my role.

It is my mission to speak up for the industrial relations rights of employers and employees, across all industries. I am passionate about assessing matters from multiple perspectives.

As the Director and Lead Advocate, I advocate for our clients in work tribunals, and negotiate with opposite parties.

What I find most meaningful is seeking to problem-solve industrial relations matters.

Catherine
Chief Officer

I assist clients directly, and manage our industrial relations practice. I am dedicated to identifying the key to a consistently fair service experience for all our clients.

For me, the essentials for meeting my goals include a well-calibrated business model and business systems, and team work.

I am inspired by the successful induction of team members to a risk-assessment approach to our work as a whole. In this approach, the human experience - clients and team - remains a constant test point.
